Bible verse: Psalm 9:9 – The Lord is a safe place for the oppressed — a safe place in difficult times.
Where are you going to be fitness-wise at the end of this 6 weeks? Are you already in good shape, but looking to get to the next level? Have you never made exercise a consistent part of your daily routine? Were you once in great shape, but have let it slide since you have had kids? For me, I was always fairly active growing up. I grew up with three older sisters, so I was always trying to keep up. My parents exposed us to several different activities and sports, which included hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, baseball, hockey, basketball, golf, and a number of other activities. I immediately fell in love with hockey in the winters and love to golf in the summers. I never had a routine where I exercised. I was just active, whether that be playing with friends in the neighborhood or through organized sports. Prior to having kids, I continued being active. Once we started having our children, I stopped a lot of activities because I simply didn’t have a lot of extra time. The result was I started putting on weight and lacking energy. Two things helped me to build a routine and love for exercise. On a whim, I signed up for a beginner triathlon. And the second thing was I signed up for a gym across the street from work where I could work out at lunch times. These next 7 days will be focused on fitness and building exercise into your daily routine.
