Day 22

Bible verse: James 1:2-4 – My brothers and sisters, think of the various tests you encounter as occasions for joy. After all, you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let this endurance complete its work so that you may be fully mature, complete, and lacking in nothing.

Are you currently in great shape? Have you ever been in great shape? Have you ever finished a workout and felt like I can do more? Have you ever wrestled or played with your kids and felt like you have had more energy than them? Being tired is a choice. It is the culmination of a number of bad choices. Being tired all the time comes from going to bed late, hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock, making excuses, choosing to drive to work or take public transportation vs running or biking to work. Choosing to go out for lunch vs working out at lunch or going for a run. Being tired comes from to much time on your phone or watching TV vs being present with your family. These are all simple choices that compound and add up to a lack of energy and being tired all the time. If you want your energy back, to feel good about yourself again, and accomplish more than you ever imagined it is time to start building positive habits into your life. It is time to take exercise and nutrition seriously, so that you can not only be the energetic parent your kids need now, but also be around to play with your grandkids. It is time to stop making excuses and find the joy in being active daily with your wife and your kids. Rise and grind.
