Day 14

Bible verse: Romans 8:31 – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

So far, I have used the word automate a number of times. We live busy lives. We want to spend our precious time being active and enjoying our families. The idea is to spend the time up-front getting your life automated. Once you have your life automated, you have the ability to check-in on things throughout the year, but not to use your brain bandwidth daily to think about your investments, exercise, tithing, etc. Automate your day by doing exercise in the mornings (or to-and-from work). Automate your investments by investing in low-fee Index Funds’s through an online broker like Questrade. Automate your tithing by having a regular e-transfer at your church. Automate your budgeting by using an app like MINT to track your banking and credit card accounts. Automate your prayer life by praying at certain times during the day and having a regular conversation with God throughout the day, automate your family time by committing to eat supper together and committing to put your kids to bed each night. We are all busy. We are all good at making excuses. We all have work and family commitments. Automating elements of your life will help to reduce worry and increase happiness by focusing on the things that matter.
