Day 2

Bible verse: Luke 6: 46-49 – Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?  As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.  They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.

One of the first things that happens when you have kids is you lose any free time you had before. Prior to having kids, I remember thinking I lived a busy life. I played in three hockey leagues, golfed regularly, played on a co-ed soccer team, and went to the movies on the weekend. Now, my time is taken up by getting kids ready, giving baths, doing homework, reading princess books, and spending quality time with my kids. One of the first relationships that suffers when having kids is intimacy with your spouse. I read a quote from The Rock once that said whenever he passes his wife in the house, he embraces his wife and gives her a big kiss on the lips. Take the time today to not let your spouse get by you in the house without a hug, kiss, or a nice slap to the rear-end.
