Day 38

Bible verse: Mark 11:24 – Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Sometimes life is hard. It can be very difficult. We go through seasons of triumph and seasons of hardship. We get old and begin to worry about everything and take life to seriously. When I was younger, I remember going to the doctor or signing up for life insurance and checking off all the boxes where I am healthy and no family history with the major diseases. Fast forward a few years and I am checking off the boxes outlining cancer and Alzheimer’s as two gems in our family’s medical history. The people in my life have transformed. I no longer have my Dad to talk to about everything going on in my life… or to ask him for help when my truck is acting up or when I am having plumbing issues at home. I no longer get to go to my Grandparents farm, as they are now in heaven. I have always heard that if you love your job, you never work a day in your life. Unfortunately, for me, I have yet to find a job that I love. It can be easy to focus on hurts and things in life that don’t go as planned. But, the joy in life is focusing on what you do have and knowing that one day you will see your loved ones in heaven again. It is waking up with a thankful heart and mind. Thanking God for having a warm bed to sleep in on the cold winter nights. Thanking God for your spouse laying next to you. Thanking God for your health to be able to get out of bed in the morning. Thanking God as you breathe the fresh air outside leaving your house in the morning. Thanking God for your children and the next generation of your family history. Thanking God for blessing you with the amazing gift of being a parent and watching your children grow.
