Day 37

Bible verse: 1 Corinthians 16:14 – Do everything in love.

Who doesn’t want to live an adventurous life, right!? I sure do. I crave in my bones learning new things and being free. Sometimes, when we think of adventure, we make things complicated. We have a few weeks of holidays a year and we try to smash all our adventures into a short window. Vacations are great… and we always need something to look forward to. In the meantime, I don’t recommend sitting around on our rear-ends every night watching TV. Explore the world around you. Get out with your kids right after work. Go play soccer at a field, get grass stains on your knees, go skating in the winter, go explore ice caves, or a waterfall, spend time looking into a stream finding bugs, catch frogs, grow a garden, eat vegetables that your kids planted, find a lake or any type of water near your home and go for a swim, sleep in a tent in your backyard, play street hockey with your kids, and get sweaty… really really sweaty. Eat dinner late or skip a meal because you are lost mountain biking. I think we always plan for adventure, but don’t just do it every day. There is a weird phenomenon as we age. Rather than play, we sit. When we sit, our body gets used of sitting and it becomes harder to play. There is only one thing preventing me from having adventures with my kids daily… saying yes or saying no. Choose to say yes.
